Politehnica Timisoara football team drew 0-0 in a friendly match against CSC Dumbravita.

Coach Codrea could not count on Rotariu and Adamcik (injured), while Rosu and Pureca were absent for school reasons.

Paul Codrea’s statement: “If we take it, on paper, it was the most important test, with a League 2 team, we don’t play League 2 teams anymore, only League 3. The boys responded well, and for us it was a tougher match and I say we at least rose to their level. It was a balanced game, they had a couple of chances and we had a couple of chances. In the end it’s a fair result. And I want to congratulate Cosmin for the work he’s been doing for two or three years, League 2, with all the promotion, and they’re still doing pretty well, they still have 19 points and they’re three points away from the play-off zone, it’s not such a bad situation. You can see they’re working, and we’re working too. We approached the game in the second half with a lot of kids. From 2006, 2007, 2005, that’s what I’m happy about, that they coped and we didn’t concede a goal in the second half.”

A fost primul meci din acest an pe care alb-violeții l-au disputat pe un teren cu iarbă. Precedentele două au avut loc pe terenul sintetic de la Baza Politehnica nr. 2.CSC Dumbrăvița ocupă locul 14 în Liga a II-a, cu 19 puncte după 15 etape. Din sezonul regulat mai sunt patru etape, iar echipa din comuna de lângă Timișoara se află la doar patru puncte de ultima poziție ce asigură calificarea în play-off. În acest sezon, Dumbrăvița este singura grupare din județul Timiș care evoluează mai sus de Liga a III-a. Echipa alb-verde va începe sezonul oficial de primăvară în 24 februarie, pe teren propriu, cu Unirea Slobozia.
