Politehnica Timisoara football team lost in Slatina and was mathematically relegated to the third league.

CSM Slatina won 1-0 (1-0). The goal was scored by Ciocâlteu in the 43rd minute with a shot from the penalty box. Paul Codrea started again with three “under” players. The system was 4-3-3. Oanea was injured and had to be substituted a few minutes after being introduced.

In the Group A standings, Poli is in 7th place, last with 19 points, seven points behind the play-off place occupied by Metaloglobus București. And in case of a win today, the data would not have changed for the white-violet, as Metaloglobus won against CSC Șelimbăr.

“It was a game not played badly by our team. Unfortunately on a defensive naivety we lost. League 2 is a difficult league, where not much football is played, many interruptions. The team played good football, we totally dominated the second half. Unfortunately we missed some chances, if we had managed to score we probably would have left here without defeat. Unfortunately the situation had been clear for a long time. We tried to save at the end, to do the impossible, we didn’t succeed, but at least we saved face. The boys really, in the last month since I’ve been here, have played football, we’ve dominated almost every opponent we’ve played. The result was what it was, both with Șelimbăr and with Slatina and we’re sorry we lost. We wanted at least a draw and with a win today we would still have been relegated because Metaloglobus won and unfortunately we only have one game left, they have two”.
