“Indeed, the first half belonged entirely to the hosts, who also scored twice and created other scoring chances. The second half, however, we changed players, we came over them higher and we also created very good scoring chances. Unfortunately, we didn’t score and I think we deserved a goal in the second half, after the way the game evolved, but now we have 90 or 120 minutes left in Timisoara to be able to return the two goals we conceded here.

The opponents probably started much better than us, they were probably better motivated. We didn’t get into the game very well. We can put on many factors, but we stick to the fact that they performed very well in the first 45 minutes.

Indeed Victor (Pruna) came off quickly, we don’t know now whether or not it would have changed if he was on the pitch. What is certain is that we now have a 2-0 result to turn around and in Timisoara we have to do our best to be able to do so.

Nothing is impossible in football. We’ve seen games come back from four or five goals down, so there is nothing impossible, it’s just that we need to be much more present in terms of our play in the return against Satu Mare and be able to score. We could have scored today too, but our mistakes in finishing cost us maybe one goal or maybe even two, why not? I want to thank first of all the supporters for the trip they made, they were admirable and sang throughout the game and this gives us hope that our players will mobilize better in the return and we will be able to turn the result”, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.
