The white-violet played today at the “Dan Paltinisanu” arena another training game. Politehnica Timișoara won 4-0 (2-0) against Club Atletic Oradea. The goals were scored by Cosmin Bîrnoi, Adrian Zaluschi and Roberto Hațegan (two).

The score was opened quickly, in the 9th minute, when Zaluschi, on counter-attack, crossed in front of the goal to Cosmin Bîrnoi, who put the ball into the net. In the 39th minute Bîrnoi returned the service of the first and “Zalu” finished on the ground, with a kick from the centre of the box, between the goalkeeper’s legs.

The second half was approached by coach Dorin Toma with a completely different line-up and a lower average age. Even so the white-violet scored twice more through Roberto Hațegan. The first time he placed the ball from the edge of the box near the goalkeeper’s right corner (min. 60). Then the same midfielder did the “double” with a free-kick, the ball hitting the crossbar before entering the goal (70). The biggest chances for our guests belonged to Gunie (22nd and 67th minutes – Devenish-Meares intervention) and Cîrjan (25th and 43rd).

Srgian Luchin is no longer training with our team, instead, the Portuguese Jose Esteves was tested today (basic position: defensive midfielder, born 2001, from Boavista).

“Victory is of little interest to me. I’m interested in the aspects of the game, I’m interested in our game, because we’re still in the friendly period. The important thing will be how we look in the first leg and we have to look very good, because we have a pretty tough start to the championship with one of the promotion candidates. All in all it was a good training, we come after a training camp that lasted until Saturday, leaving with the game in Serbia, and we are trying to adjust what did not work out for us including in Saturday’s game against Ripensia”, said Dorin Toma, Politehnica’s head coach.

Politehnica’s next game, the last friendly before the start of the championship, will be against Ripensia. Saturday, from 11.00 am, at the “Electrica” arena.
