Maximum in rematch: “We need to have a lot of determination, to have courage”

Politehnica Timişoara  will meet Rapid Bucharest again on its own field tomorrow. This time the game will count for the third round of the League 2 play-off phase and will be played on the “Dan Păltinişanu” arena, where the white-violets have registered successes on the line in this championship.

Tomorrow’s guests managed, instead, to win 2-0 on “Știința” in the regular season, in a special match, as they are all between the two clubs twinned at the level of fans.

“We are ahead of the third game in this playoff. We meet the team of the moment in League II: Rapid, the team that looks the best at the moment, which in the last four games has scored 13 goals, given that they have played every game under fantastic pressure, and here the great merit is of Mihai Iosif, who practically transformed this team. It’s a special game with Rapid, in which there are players with a lot of quality, I know them very well, from the middle up each player can decide the game. They can make a difference, they also have a balance, because they also look good on the defense phase, where Dandea excels, a big plus for them. But I have expectations from our team, to show a lot of determination, to play with a lot of courage. In the match with Craiova I was disappointed with the result and, in the event that we will not win tomorrow, things are a bit clear regarding the first two positions. Even if there are still many points at stake. My upset in Craiova was that it was not superior to us, a team that is much better than us from all points of view, won with a chance on a single shot on goal space. We have a lot of things to work out. I was dissatisfied with many moments of the game, I looked much worse than in Calarasi. In Călăraşi it was I think the best game of the team this season, as well, against a very good team…. we play with Rapid tomorrow to enjoy the game, because it’s a match against a traditional team, a beautiful team, which I respect enormously and you know my affinity for Rapid, because I also played, I trained Rapid de twice. I hope it will be a spectacular match and the best to win “, said Dan Alexa, the head coach of the white-violets.

Our entire team is valid and the Politehnica technician will take his seat on the bench tomorrow after three rounds of suspension. “I have great confidence in my staff. I don’t think I didn’t win or I didn’t get at least one point in Craiova because I didn’t sit on the bench. If there would be a difference we will see tomorrow, but from my point of view I don’t think that was the problem (…) With Rapid we have to come with an extra confidence, we have to show that we want this promotion. The first goal was to qualify for the playoffs and we got it, we were congratulated by a lot of football people, the (financial) difference between us and many teams is colossal in League 2… We got a performance, I congratulate the players, it’s the performance even if at times we have suffered a lot, but I do not want to believe that we have entered a comfort zone, that we have achieved a goal, because it does not play money (…) In eight games we have to get at least a dam place, because it’s accessible. We are in another championship, with teams at least equal in value as us, it depends on how much personality you have, courage and a lot of determination “, concluded the technician of the Polytechnic.

The newest member of the offensive department, the striker Pavle Radunovic, who arrived at our team in the winter, also spoke about tomorrow’s game. “It’s a very important game for us and it’s a difficult match, because we don’t have a victory of a few games. But we have to show quality first on the field and the result will definitely be in our favor… I hope that if we win two or three matches everything will change and we will have good chances in the first two places! It is very important for us to play well at home, to win every duel in every game, to give 100%, if we all give our best it will definitely be good for the team and our fans will be happy and proud of us “, said Pavle Radunovic .

The match Politehnica Timişoara – Rapid Bucureşti will be played tomorrow, from 16.30 (Digisport 1), on the “Dan Păltinişanu” stadium, in the third stage of the League 2 play-off. Giuleştenii occupies the 2nd place, with 39 points , while the white-violets are on 5, with six less, also after two games counted in this phase of the championship.
