Politehnica Timisoara victorie Dunărea Călărași

Happy Easter: Politechnica – Dunărea 2-1!

The struggles of the Politehnica in the play-off ended on Good Friday afternoon. The white-violets defeated Dunărea Călăraşi, score 2-1, and keep chances to access a promotion game place for League I. The goals of our team bore the signatures of Petre Ivanovici and Jose Casado, the latter bringing the victory by the success of 90 + 3 minutes!

In the first two minutes, the white-violets passed the ball between them in solidarity with the situation of the visitors, the Danube players not being paid for several months.

The polytechnic was then present in the opposing half. Ivanovici fired a shot from distance after 20 minutes, but the long shot couldn’t find the net for Began. Six minutes later I recorded a great opportunity on behalf of the people of Calarasi. V. Alexandru was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was met beautifully by Coadă, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. The score was opened in another six minutes, when Ivanovici concretized from five meters, under the bar, a long cross sent by Jurj. However, the advantage of the white-violets did not last long, because the Danube equalized through Alami’s shot, which caught the long corner with the outside. The end of the half also brought an elimination on the guests ‘account, Acolatse receiving “red” directly after a harsh intervention on Rus’ leg.

The white-violets had more initiative with numerical superiority, but the first actions in the second half were not completed by Radunovic and Pamfile. 62 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 – 0 as Ivanovici finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The guests were dangerous in fixed phases. After eight minutes, Şandru’s shot went over the goal. The 79th minute brought a slightly granted “free”, in which Păduraru was tested by Djuric and in two minutes Alami shook only the side net. When no one thought that anything remarkable could happen, a new long cross came from Jurj and Casado, found free in the center of the box, resumed with his head to Began’s right for 2-1!

A victory that is meant to unlock the white-violets before the holidays and at the start of the return of the League 2 play-off. Politehnica accumulated 36 points after six rounds of this phase of the championship, being tied with Csikszereda (place 5), a team that has a higher goal difference and one game less. The next match of our team will also be on its own field, in the company of FCU Craiova, game scheduled for Friday, May 7 (18.30).
