Our club has entered a new era. Today, a new Corporation was founded: Politehnica Timişoara University Sports Society Inc.. This is a project planned for more than a year with the aim of attracting the entire white-purple community closer to Politehnica. Including here the business environment. This way, the much desired sports performances will become a reality in the shortest time. The model followed and adapted in our Club is the same one used in German soccer.

The Corporation is represented by a Board of Directors consisting of seven Members: Viorel-Aurel Şerban (President), Cristian Romoniţă (Vice-President and “Druckeria” Supporters Association Representative), Liviu Cădariu-Brăiloiu (Timişoara Polytechnic University Pro-Rector), Saşa Moza (“Druckeria” Representative), Gheorghe Iova  (Cramele Recaş – author note aka a.n., forward on Recaş Winery / Premium Wine Estate – Representative), Cosmin Contra (Former International Footballer and former National Soccer Team Head Coach) and Duşan Filipaş (local Entrepreneur).

“I’m glad that we are living this times, I believe that, in a few years, this will look like an event that has radically changed the perception of what Politehnica does and what is its role in this side of the country… This Coropration comes as a necessity to  find the best formula to turn Politehnica Timișoara more than ever as a community team. As the Polytechnic University has been in its entire activity the engine of these regions, it is time for the football (a.n., soccer) team to take over this honorable and difficult task of representing football (soccer)at the highest level in this side of Romania. Maybe for more than a year we have been trying to find the ideal formula for this Corporation in order to respect its two big goals. The first, to continue to be a representative brand for Polytechnics Institute, to run through the same principles, providing another way of looking at local sports. Second, to slowly become, as it’s been over time, The Community Team. That’s why things went quite hard, because these requirements we needed to set up had to be adapted to the shape of what this sort of “organized societies” (a.n. Corporations) mean.  Unfortunately, we could not fully borrow the German model of football (soccer) clubs adopted as entirely due to our different national law environment, but through the documents that accompany the constitutive act, I think that we have succeeded in this endeavor”, said Viorel-Aurel Şerban, Politehnica Timişoara President.

Given that a Corporation needs at least two shareholders, at the time of foundation of the new “S.A.” (a.n. Inc. as equivalent in America), there will be the following shareholders at “SSU Politehnica”:

ASU Politehnica Timişoara Sports Club (which has the Polytechnic Institute as associates) altogether with Polytechnic Foundation and the Association of Former Graduates and Employees of Polytechnic Institute – Alumni), with a majority of 90% of the shares, and “Druckeria” Timişoara Supporters Association, with 10% of the shares.

“The principles are specific to a Corporation.  All the rules of good functioning must respect the rules of an Inc. and, at the same time, the rules related to the fact that it is a sports trading company. We must have the agreement of both the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which will grant us under the new CIS (a.n. Fiscal Identity Certificate) and of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF), which must offer us the affiliation as a successor of the Politehnica Timişoara University Sports Association”, Viorel-Aurel Şerban added.

The first big step was taken, the registration certificate of the new Sports Corporation was obtained, from a legal point of view. The next step is to obtain the right of using the new form of organization from the national authorities (Ministry of Youth and Sports and FRF) until the beginning of the 2021-’22 season for our club to operate under the new Corporation.

Those involved in the project have made a commitment through a convention to follow certain steps in the development of Corporation (a.n. known as a “joint stock company” in Europe), but first of all to respect the foundation primarily principles: “to be a transparent society, to give confidence and piece of mind to those who will join us, that things will be followed in the most correct way of a working flow. To let people feel that they are coming to a project that totally represents themselves. This project wants to show the entire country that in Timişoara there are both businessmen and successful companies who can join a clean project which always had, as a the primary desire, to develop performance sports, so that in a couple of years Timişoara will re-become one of the main  forces in the Romanian championship with an enjoyable game and cool performances.  We are embarking on a very generous project, but also very complex at the same time. It takes a lot of work and a lot of support”, concluded the President.

Therefore, the next steps will be to obtain the CIS (for the new Corporation, a.n.) and to be able to join FRF requirements just in time for the new season, to increase the capital shares with the federal rights of the players, then to issue 2,000 shares to “Druckeria” and to Polytechnic University. This transaction will be performed at the nominal value of the shares. In future, shares will be made available to all Timişoara residents, businessmen and whoever interested. “We want to have a 100% open, transparent approach and create performance. We want to bring back 30,000 people to the stadium, to the new stadium”, Duşan Filipaş said.

“I started with football (soccer) here, in Timişoara, have always intended to help this sport revive in Timişoara. From all points of view. Having this possibility, I gladly accepted, I told my colleagues on the Board of Directors and I came because I was exposed to a medium to long term project where Timişoara would become a top force in Romanian football (soccer) again.  It’s a dream of mine since there was no football (soccer) at a top level in Timişoara. I hope that everyone involved in sports in this city will get involved in this project. With those who are now at the table, is not going to be enough. But we will need the support of the authorities, first of all to create the necessary infrastructure. Not only for Politehnica to do performance, but also for the other teams in Timişoara to have the same conditions and for Banat football (soccer) to become a force again. That’s why I appeal to all people who are Poli Fans to stay tuned in following the team, to help this team becoming a top force again. From a sports point of view, I am with all of those who lead this team, including the Coach, the technical staff, the players, I provide all the experience I have gained to help with whatever I can make this project succed”, the former great local player and national former soccer team Coach, Cosmin Contra, said.

“I would like to thank and express my respect for those who led the team to this level,  Politehnica University, altogether with the Fans… The main motivation for “Cramele Recaş” (Recaş Wine Estate) is that we love this team and the spirit that governess it, with its spectators and what has happened over the years. I remember Celtic, Atletico de Madrid, the rain during the game with Steaua, the matches with Dinamo and so on. We are convinced that, by associating the two brands, both partners, Poli and us, have something to gain as Poli will need the necessary capital infusion and us, we’ll be improving the image of Recaş Wineries. And, of course, we will try to take the image aspect to a very high level in everything we’ll do.

We take this as a great opportunity. By taking over this project from League 2, we can take Poli to a top level altogether with the businessmen and companies from Banat Cty. who feel something for Poli, for this brand, for the City, so that in 5-7 years we can take it to the European competitions level, to allow this new business to sustain by itself at some point. We foresee this project as a great future business, so we can only gain image.  But we get based on this business through its principles and rules already established. Once established, they must be respected by all of those who are part of the project… It is absolutely necessary to feel this way for making the change. From the main team, starting with the conditions offered to them, up to everything that means the organization chart and structure of this project. That’s what we want. We, Cramele Recaş, we have never accepted mediocrity. It is the “zero moment” and we want Poli lovers to come with us because it is an investment with large amounts involved, which also must involve the vast majority of people with financial potential in Banat area… We believe that the pillars of this project should be for further on the same ones: Politehnica University, Druckeria, but we will have to find solutions to bring into the project Timişoara City Hall, Timiş County Council and the businessmen with financial potential… We want to be an example in the years to come.  Anyway, this project is a novelty for the Romanian football (soccer) environment”, Gheorghe Iova, Cramele Recaş Representative, said.

“It’s been 9 years these days since Druckeria took over the team. We succeeded, it is well known… It’s also been five years in a row in League 2. Druckeria, altogether with Polytechnic University have done everything, there was nothing more that we could do at the moment, something had to be done, changed somehow.  We want to see Poli in the 1st League therefore we have to find new partners. I’m glad I’m here, that some new people have joined us on this project and from now on we are a stronger team, moving forward towards performance. As a sign of appreciation for all the supporters who have been volunteers over time, they will have priority in purchasing the first shares we’ll release”, Cristian Romoniţă, Druckeria Representative, said.

“It is a project that, from my personal and also my colleagues point of view, we will approach with that enthusiasm, same feeling as a child has while discovering football (soccer), but also with the responsibility to represent one of the most beautiful teams in Timisoara, Banat Region and Romania. And when I say one of the most beautiful teams in Banat, I get really excited. We are talking about a team with a tradition of 100 years and I am convinced that we will bring back the hope and pride of being a PolitehnicaTimişoara supporter”, Duşan Filipaş, Entrepreneur, concluded.
