Dorin Toma, head coach of Politehnica, believes that his students could have won all the points from the 1-1 draw with FC Buzău today, taking into account the great chances at the end of the game.

“It was a good game, which we started very well, scoring in the first minutes, this maybe a little reassured us and we waited a little longer for the opponent to try to go on the counterattack… Unfortunately we didn’t manage to score the second goal and this was important. We had that mistake in our right zone, when we conceded the goal, but we recovered quite quickly and at the end we could have won the game with the two-three chances Benzar and Bîrnoi had”, said Dorin Toma after the match of the 3rd round of League 2, the first one played at home in this championship by the white-violet team.

“I think the initiative was given up on a psychological moment, after scoring it’s easier to close the game, because we played four days ago, Buzăul played last Sunday, they were much more rested than us. This was seen just from our positioning and by the fact that we left more space to the opponent to be able to counter their game”, said the Politehnica coach.

Unfortunately medical problems did not bypass our team, Denis Radu was a recent absence, besides Sebastian Serediuc, and two other white-violet players asked to be changed during the match against FC Buzău because they could not continue the match. “We replaced them for medical reasons, both Oanea and Scutaru, we were prepared for more on the attacking phase, but unfortunately such injuries occur. Scutaru also had problems in Călărași, he showed a spirit of sacrifice, Bocșan came in and managed the game well. In the end we have a point and it is won by our team…”, explained Dorin Toma.

Politehnica’s coach stressed that there are positive aspects regarding the game of his students in the perspective of the next rounds: “…the game is starting to work, slowly the results will appear. Today Buzăul was a team desperate for points, they only managed to take a point today, we knew what was waiting for us, they are a well-organized, financially strong team and for us this game was six points”.
