Today, the white-violet team found out their opponent in the fourth round of the Romanian Cup. Politehnica Timișoara will play away against Șoimii Lipova, a League 3 team. The duels in this phase will be played in a single leg on the field of the lower ranked team in the last season.

“It’s a good cup game for us, a game where we can see the players who have played less and the young players we have. A game where we try to line up some more things that we’ll be practising this week of training, it being the League 2 break. So a very good game for us, which we approach very seriously,” said Dorin Toma, head coach of Politehnica.

It is possible that before this game our team will play another test on the weekend. “We are still looking for a friendly, we watched League 3, where we don’t know if Frontiera Curtici has a match with ACS Poli. And due to the fact that we have a junior tournament that occupies a lot of fields (n.r. “Politehnica Centenary” Tournament), we are trying to take an away game, because otherwise we will also play the Cup and the championship away at Metaloglobus”, concluded the white-violet technician.

The match Șoimii Lipova – Politehnica Timișoara will be played on Wednesday, September 8. The schedule of matches in this phase of the competition may be subject to changes depending on the television coverage. The team from Arad county usually plays its home matches at the “Banatul” stadium in the Sânnicolau Mic district of Arad. Falcons beat CSC Dumbrăvița (1-0) in the second round and Crișul Chișineu Criș (2-0) in the third round. Our team qualified directly to this phase.
