Politehnica Timisoara play only their third home game of the season on Saturday. The opponent of the white-violet team is FK Csikszereda, a club that was also in the play-off last season of League 2, and the objective of our team is only one: victory!
“We are trying from game to game to grow, but unfortunately the last two results are not on our side and on my side. I want my players to play until the last whistle of the referee, to be capable, to be determined. Because it’s a pity to lose in the 92nd minute, just as it’s a pity after leading a game, at Metaloglobus, to come back with four goals, so are big mistakes, which I assume as a coach. I’m responsible for the results. But I wish as soon as possible to get over this not so good part and all this to end at the game against Miercurea Ciuc, this misfortune or bad luck, as we want to call it. Let’s not make any more big personal mistakes and let’s all contribute to our first home win. I really want to win this game for the supporters, because I didn’t please them in the beginning of the championship. We had only two home games, one we could have won, against Buzăul, and one, against Iașiul, which we lost at the last phase”, said Dorin Toma, Politehnica’s head coach.
Despite the last results in the championship, Ioan Mera and company are optimistic about the duel with the Ciucanii. “The players have prepared very well this week. They have a very good attitude and I’m sure that in the match against Miercurea Ciuc this will show. We meet an opponent who, like us, last year was part of the top six, they were in the play-offs. They started very poorly, with five consecutive defeats, but here they have continuity and started to pick up the first points in the game against “U” Cluj, after being led. They have a large squad, a good squad, you know very well where the funding comes from and what players they can bring in. But we are not inferior in any way. We’re trying to make the best team we can, to homogenise the squad, to make changes in the end and for everyone to be positive, to have the good attitude, determination and tactical discipline that I want. As a player I was a player who wanted to win every move, every game we played. I have to implement this to my players as well…”, the white-violet coach added.
Our team still cannot rely on the services of Sebastian Serediuc and Denis Radu, both still recovering from medical problems. The latter will undergo rehabilitation treatment at a clinic in Nurnberg (Germany).
The match Politehnica Timișoara – AFK Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc will be played on Saturday at 17.00 (untelevised) in the 7th round of League 2. The white-violet are on 12th with seven points, while the Csikserezereda have collected three points in the first six rounds and are ranked 17th.
