Our team doesn’t have time to enjoy the Cup success against Rapid very much. On Sunday, the white-violets have another important match in League 2, on the field of newly promoted Unirea Dej.

Politehnica hopes that after yesterday’s success they can change their course in the championship. “It gives us hope that it can be done, we have tough games ahead, we are worried at the same time because the time until the game in Dej is very short. We hope that physically we will recover. We are also counting on the psychological aspect, the victory against Rapid I hope will give us a good morale and we hope that in Dej we will get a positive result, which we really need“, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.

“They are a team that plays with a lot of enthusiasm, with a lot of commitment, a direct game on goal. …we hope to find the best ways to counter their game and, at the same time, to recover our players and to be at an optimal level on Sunday“, said the white-violet’s coach about the opponent of the day after tomorrow.

Asked about the absences of Bîrnoi, Benzar and Prodan from the squad for the match against Rapid, Nicolae Croitoru answered: “We all have to understand that performance can be achieved with a lot of work, discipline. I think we managed to convey this message to everyone. We didn’t put them in a corner a bit… I think it was and I hope it was a measure that will have an effect.”

The match Unirea Dej – Politehnica Timisoara will be played on Sunday, at 13.00 (untelevised), in the 12th round of League 2. The hosts are in 14th place, with 12 points, while our team is one position below, with only ten points accumulated so far.
