The white-violets drew white today on the synthetic pitch in Valea Domanului. It was a very physical 0-0 against the host CSM Reșița, the leader of the 7th Series in League 3.
Reșițenii dominated the first part of the game, but without creating great chances to Păduraru’s goal. The 4th minute brought our team’s first shot at the opponent’s goal, but the ball sent by Doru Andrei was held without problems by Micu. At our goal Mediop shot uncomfortably, from an angle, wide 18 minutes later. Then Drăghiceanu (29) sent a free-kick wide from distance. Towards the end of the half our team could have scored after a corner, but Bocșan’s header was deflected over the goal.
The second half started with a dangerous volley from Jorza (49), but after that there were no more important goals. The game also became very physical amid the changes. For medical reasons they were missing from the team: Bîrnoi, Rogosic, Mera, Zaluschi and Erceanu.

“I can say that it was a welcome friendly, as the conditions were close to an official game. Even if they play in League 3, I think they are a League 2 opponent. On the other hand, a welcome game, because it showed us some shortcomings, which we must correct in the coming period, so that the beginning of the championship will find us at a good level”, Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica Timișoara head coach.
