Politehnica’s head coach was satisfied with the draw his team got today, in numerical inferiority, against Concordia Chiajna, in the 18th round of League 2.
“Of course, it’s a point earned and a point won against an opponent who has the objective of promotion, who is at the top of the standings and who also had a special motivation. The end of the regular championship is approaching, there is one more stage and they still need three points to ensure their presence in the play-off”, said Nicolae Croitoru, head coach of Politehnica Timisoara.
“I wouldn’t like to comment now, it seemed quite easy to me, but I think I should see the phase first and then make a decision”, said the coach of the white-violet team in reference to the elimination of Balsa Rogosic. “…it’s hard to say if the result would have been different, the strength of the attack decreased, even in these conditions we had one situation, even two, to score”, Nicolae Croitoru added.
Politehnica was supported by a large away crowd, which was appreciated by the whole staff: “It certainly mattered a lot. I have said every time that the public, the supporters, have an extraordinary contribution because they motivate us every time and we must appreciate the efforts they have made, because it is a long trip”.
Our team was without the services of Mera (suspended), Ignea (injured) and Bîrnoi (not fully recovered). Moreover, during today’s game, Claudiu Pamfile and Doru Andrei left the pitch with medical problems. “It remains for him (Pamfile) and Doru Andrei to go for a medical check-up tomorrow, because he also has some problems with his knee and we will see what it is”, concluded Nicu Croitoru.
