Politehnica Timisoara receives on Saturday, in the 6th round of the League 2 play-out, the visit of Metaloglobus Bucharest. The game counts from the point of view of the white-violets for the preparation of the play-off duel, in May, against FC Brasov (5th place in group B).
“Unfortunately, there are two games (against Metaloglobus and Iasi) that only count as preparation for the double-header against Brasov in the play-off for the League 2 title. It’s a first game, the one against Metaloglobus, but it’s important, because we need a positive result, a good performance, which will give us confidence, which will give us peace of mind for the following weeks to prepare very well for the games against Brasov”, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.
“There are two games coming up in which we hope to get victories for the team’s atmosphere and for the play-off match, which, in my opinion, will not be easy!”, said Cristian Bocșan, first scorer for our team during the game in Braila. Asked about how the supporters feel about the current situation, the central defender answered: “It’s very hard, we are not indifferent, but that’s how the situation was… Through our games and victories and what we can do now… what was we hope to forget, and in the future we hope to win, to avoid these things”.
About the fact that goalkeeper Rareș Murariu started last round after being left out of the squad in winter, Nicu Croitoru explained that “After the championship round, it was decided that only two of the senior goalkeepers would stay for the championship round, taking into account that there are few games left to play and to complete the squad with a goalkeeper or even two from the academy. We actually have two junior goalkeepers permanently in the training programme who come and train with the big team, we prepare them for the future… no agreement was reached with Murariu in the winter, he remained under contract with the club, he was paid by the club, and then if this happened, it would have been a shame to let him train outside the squad and not reintegrate him into the squad.”
Our team will definitely not be able to rely on Adrian Zaluschi (long-term injury) for Saturday’s game, while Alexandru Iamandache is uncertain after “an injury in Tuesday’s training, we hope he will be recovered by game time”. On the other hand, goalkeeper George Păduraru “has been with the team since this week”.
The match Politehnica Timisoara – Metaloglobus Bucharest will be played on Saturday, at 12:00, at the “Știința” stadium, in the 6th round of the League 2 play-out. The Pantelimon team is in second place in Group A with 35 points, eight more than the white-violet team. In the regular season our team lost 1-4 away against the capital’s team.
