“Tomorrow morning the surgery is scheduled, we need blood for your baby!” .
“Did you hear that our friend was involved in an accident! He needs blood urgently! We need to donate!”
“Your father is in critical condition. He’s going through a tough surgery and a long recovery. We need blood.”
There are a few sentences that really knock you down, you feel the ground slip away from under your feet and leave you speechless. Unfortunately, this is the reality and we are forced to live with the feeling that at any minute, at any moment, you – the one reading this, one of your parents or your close friend might find yourself in an extremely delicate situation where blood transfusions are needed. Centres across the country are always faced with a low number of donors and a shortage of blood supplies, and during the summer the crisis is even more acute.
Because we can’t stay away from this situation, we have decided to resume the BLUE BLOOD FOR LIFE campaign.
All those who present at our official shop near the Science Stadium a document proving that they have donated blood will receive a 40% discount on any product in the shop.
WHY DONATE BLOOD? WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

PURPLE BLOOD FOR LIFE
As well as being a fair, dignified and humane, safe and minimally invasive procedure, you also get a number of natural benefits from the charitable act. Specifically, your body will thank you for it:
- regular donation boosts the blood supply and strengthens the immune system, lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease and even cancer, according to expert medical studies
- regular donation regulates high triglyceride and cholesterol levels, which has a beneficial effect on the liver
- before donating you always have a medical check-up and some blood tests. Haemoglobin is checked at each donation, blood glucose and haemoglobin are checked at the doctor’s instructions and blood group is checked only at the first donation
- after donation, further tests are carried out on the donated blood, the results of which can be collected personally by the donor (after 3 working days)
- 650 calories are burned during a whole blood donation
- recurrent donors experience an increase in the body’s resistance to possible haemorrhagic shock
- in men, post-menopausal women and all people with excess iron, regular donation regulates blood iron levels (excess iron is a cardiovascular risk factor)
