Concordia Chiajna was founded in 1957. Over the years the names have been GAC, AS and ILF Militari.
In 2006 they participated in the national divisional system for the first time, taking a place in D3, and in the following year, 2007, they were promoted to League II! In those last years of the first decade of the new millennium, the coach was the famous ex-international Ion Dumitru (born in the village of Roșu, Chiajna commune), and among the players were other former “tricolori”, such as B. Vintilă, Fl. Dumitru, Miu, or future internationals L. Antal and Gardoș.
In 2011 they are promoted to the first division! After two years, it is relegated, but remains in D1 thanks to a CAS decision, which came after the start of the season! In 2019, after eight uninterrupted years in League I, relegated to the second league, occupying the last place, 14th, in the elite.
In 2016 they were finalists of the Romanian League Cup, 1-2 d.p. with Steaua (now FCSB).
Coach Laurențiu Reghecampf left Chiajna for Steaua in 2012. Among the players who played for Concordia in D1 are Fl. Niță, E. Trică, P. Marin, Mihalcea, S. Paraschiv, Ghionea, Ad. Cristea, Maftei and Balgrădean.
The rise of the team was due to the local mayor, Mircea Minea.
The home stadium, Concordia, in Chiajna, has 5,123 seats, artificial turf, and hosted the U19 EC junior final in 2011, Spain – Czech Republic 3-2 d.p.!
Chiajna is a commune to the west of Bucharest, named after Doamna Chiajna, daughter of Petru Rareș.
Until 2008, no team from Ilfov county had ever been in League I. Since then there have been no less than five (three of them from the commune)! CS Otopeni, Victoria Brănești, Concordia Chiajna, FC Voluntari, Academica Clinceni. Chiajna has the most editions in the elite, but the only trophies Voluntari won were the Romanian Cup and the Romanian Super Cup, both in 2017.
