Politehnica has signed Onni Tiihonen to a contract until the summer, with the possibility of an extension for another year. He also opened the scoring in the first game of the year on Saturday in a 4-0 win over Timis Șag, scoring in the 16th minute.

Finnish Onni Tiihonen was born on 6 June 2000 in Vantaa, in the “Land of a thousand lakes”. He is a defensive midfielder. After playing for several teams in his home country, he moved to AB Argir last winter, for whom he played 14 matches in the 2022 edition of the Faroese first division. In the autumn he came to Romania, to Viitorul Dăești, a team now ranked 5th in the 6th series of the 3rd league.

About his first days training with Poli, Tiihonen told us, “I think the staff and players are doing a very good job now, I think we are working together as a family, building something new together. I think for me, so far, it has been a good training period”.

His signing (as well as those who will sign for the club in the coming period) will come after the transfer ban is lifted.
