In the most important transfer (at least so far) for Politehnica this winter, four top forwards that the white-violet teams have had over the years were reunited. They are Mircea Axente (who brokered this transfer), Cristian Gavra and today’s leaders of Poli, Ovidiu Cuc and Doru Plăvițu.

From left: Axente (a Polist striker at the turn of the century, who returned to the white-and-violet to end his career a year and a half ago), Gavra (the team’s new top scorer), Cuc (scorer of the goal in the legendary Poli – Real Madrid 1-1, in the 1992 UEFA Cup), Plăvițu (debut at Poli in the early 80s, immediately after winning the Romanian Cup and losing to Celtic).
