Petre Spăriosu (78) passed away yesterday. Born on 11 November 1944, also known as Speriosu, he was a player (left back in the 1960s, including in Division A) for Știința (Politehnica) Timișoara: for example, in the 1965/66 edition of the first division he played in all 26 matches!

He also played for CFR Timișoara, with whom he achieved an incredible promotion to the elite (even at the expense of Poli!) in 1970 and for whom he also played in A.

He was then children’s coach at Politehnica Timișoara. He was one of the founders of AS Politehnica, a team founded by UPT in 1995, where he also coached at youth level. He was also a federal observer.
