Politehnica Timisoara football team drew in the 13th round of the 3rd League. It was 1-1 (0-1) in the derby against FC Bihor in Oradea, a match played on an impossible pitch.

The hosts, with former players C. Jurj and B. Vasile, opened the scoring in the 7th minute through Chitaș, who broke into the box and shot from the left side. In the 28th and 45th+3rd minutes, the Orleanians missed two chances to increase their lead. In the 54th and 62nd minute, Murariu defends new chances from Biho. Paul Codrea receives a yellow card (min. 70), after the guests called for a penalty, following the goalkeeper’s intervention on D. Popa. Poli manages to equalise in the 74th minute, when Curescu goes on the counter-attack, enters the box and sends it to the long corner. In the extra time minutes, both teams were looking for the winning goal, and the hosts were left in numerical inferiority, Gunie being sent off.

Poli get an extremely valuable point after a hard-fought game against a more experienced opponent and much more supported by the local community.

The Polista gallery made the trip, as they do to all the official matches this season, cheered their favourites all the time and reminded us all how beautiful the atmosphere was in Romanian stadiums a couple of decades ago.
