Politehnica Timisoara football team drew, 1-1, in a friendly match against Viitorul Simian, played at the Dan Paltinisanu stadium.

No goals were scored in the first half and one of the guests’ players suffered a broken collarbone.

In the 49th minute, Polist striker D. Popa opened the scoring with a shot from the penalty area. Six minutes later, Șimianul equalised from a corner. The match heats up, the rough and tumble begins. Within two minutes (60-62), two Mehedimans are sent off (with right of substitution).

On the last of these “reds”, the match is interrupted for four minutes and there is even the question of not resuming because of the nervousness of the combatants. It is resumed, but no more scoring.

Coach Codrea could not count on Rotariu and Marincu (injured).
