Politehnica Timișoara football team will play on Saturday in the 8th, penultimate, round of the play-off of the 3rd League.
The opponent will be FC Bihor, and the match will take place at 18:00, away, at the Iuliu Bodola stadium in the city on the banks of the river Criș Repede.
In the first three championship matches of this season, the score between Timisoara and Oradea was always equal, and in the last one Bihor won, 1-0 on 27 April at Electrica Stadium.
In the standings, Poli is in 2nd place with 51 points, 11 points behind 3rd place, occupied by CSC Peciu Nou. FC Bihor is the leader with 63 points and cannot lose the 1st place in the final ranking. It is the only team still undefeated among the 100 teams that started this season of the 3rd League! In 4th position is Phoenix Buziaș, with 37 points, after a surprising 1-1 away draw with FC Bihor in the previous round.
The first two places qualify for the promotion play-off to League II. In this play-off, the 8th series will be paired with the 7th series, where these positions are occupied, for the time being, by CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii, respectively CSO Filiași. In the play-off, the first place in one series will play against the second place in the other, and vice versa, and the qualified teams will play in a “final” that will determine the team promoted to the second division. Both play-off rounds will be played in a double round.
Thus, it is possible that Poli and FC Bihor will meet again, in the last round for access to the 2nd League!
