Politehnica Timișoara receives on Saturday, at the “Electrica” arena, the replica of the last placed Gloria Lunca-Teuz Cermei, in the fourth round of League 3. The white-violets hope to get their first success in the championship and on home ground, despite the absences in defense.

“A week where we had to realize what we did wrong at Lotus. A week in which we had to try to fix things and a week in which we had to work to be at our best for the match against Cermei and have the best game we can play at the moment. We are not at our best either and then clearly it will be a game that both teams will want to win. And we really want to do that, we are working for it. And we hope to come out winners in the end! Cermei is a dangerous team because it’s a team that, from what I understand, brought a new man in the locker room – in the person of Roland Nagy – with so much experience, he can be a plus for them and then they can be more dangerous”, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii Timisoara.

This week our team has also trained on the synthetic pitch at Politehnicii’s Base 2. “On Monday we managed to do on Dan Paltinisanu, on Tuesday it was impracticable because it rained a lot. That’s why we moved to the synthetic pitch, so we could train in the best conditions. In the meantime we returned to the Dan Paltinișanu…”, explained Cristi Gălan.

Poli has several absentees in the defensive compartment for this game. Unfortunately the medical verdict received at the beginning of the week by Radu Ciurel, who was injured at Sânmartin (in the 1-2 against Lotus B. Felix) was a grade 3 sprain, which means that his absence from the field will be quite long: “He is undergoing treatment, he wears a brace, it is not known exactly how long he will be missing. Huminic is training separately. Erceanu has been with the team for some time, he even played a few minutes in the juniors. Marco Lazăr is suspended for a red card in the juniors. Otherwise we’re fine. Unfortunately we’re worse in the defensive department because we’ve lost Radu and now Marco is suspended. There we’re a bit less, but the rest of the guys are fine”.

“I expect the boys to have a very good reaction, I expect us to put pressure on the opponent from the first minute and to be able to be happy in the end!”, Cristian Gălan, head coach Politehnica Timisoara

The match Politehnica Timisoara – Gloria Lunca-Teuz Cermei will be played on Saturday, September 21, from 17.00, at the “Electrica” stadium (the match will be broadcasted on YouTube). Before this game, the white-violets are on 9th, with two points, while the opponents from Arad are in last position, with no points accumulated so far in Series 9 of League 3.
