Politehnica Timisoara will play in the 18th round of League 3 (Series 9), the last of the regular season, on Saturday, March 15, at 15.00, on the field of Timis Șag. The white-violets want to secure the first position in the standings in view of a more favorable schedule in the play-off.

Our team is in first place with 31 points and is already qualified for the play-offs as they cannot be overtaken in the last round of the first phase of the championship by three of the four chasing teams. Timișul Șag is the other team in Series 9 that started 2025 with two wins in official games.

“Obviously, we have to know how to manage success, just as we have managed failures when we have had them. It was a normal week of work, nothing different, we are trying to apply what we do every day in training so that we can have a very good shape and a very good game in the game against Șag. Otherwise, there is optimism within the group, because we are in first place, we are already qualified and that makes us happy.

Obviously, our objective for this game is to win, because we would have one more game at home than the other opponents and this is a very good thing for us, because you saw in the match against Ghiroda how much a big crowd supporting the team means, it gives the boys wings and we need this first place.

We also have some absentees… otherwise all the boys are fit and we will see at game time which 11 will take the field from the first minute. We still don’t know exactly who will play,” said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.

One sure absentee from the blue-and-white squad for the next game is captain Fabian Marincu, suspended for accumulation of yellow cards.

The match CS Timisul Șag – Politehnica Timisoara will be played on Saturday, March 15, from 15.00, at the newly promoted Timisian stadium. In the second leg, the Bianconeri won 1-0. The game will be broadcast on YouTube.com/PolitehnicaTimișoara1921.
