Politehnica Timisoara travels a few kilometers east on Friday for the fourth play-off game of League 3, Series 9. The Alb-violets play on the field of the 3rd placed team – CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii, against whom the results have been split this season.

After a defeat in the regular season round (1-2) at the “Emilia Pavel” arena, there followed an emphatic success (5-0) in the return and a draw at the start of the play-off (1-1) at the “Electrica” stadium.

“Fourth match already. We already know the other three games with them how they went. We know that a tough game awaits us, because they have an experienced team and they are very homogeneous. They have an experienced coach, which makes their team look good and they have their own style of play and a certain group dynamic.

I think that now it is a completely different context, we are in a different period, we are coming after a series of very good games and I think that the boys are okay with this, we are playing on a field on which, as has been pointed out, we do not have the best results, but we are trying to get the victory on that field on Friday“, said Cristian Gălan, the head coach of Politehnicii Timisoara.

Poli have now gone ten games in a row without defeat in the championship. Moreover, the draw in the first round of the play-off against CSC Ghiroda broke the winning streak.

“We hope to keep this series as long as possible and as quickly as possible we can secure a place in the promotion play-off. The lads are very realistic when we talk about everything that happens in the club, we work every day, every day we are just as determined because we still have potential for growth, we still have a big margin for growth and we want to get closer to that margin of growth and be as good as we can be at the time of every game we play,” Cristian Gălan added.

The coach also referred to the medical situation of goal scorer Bogdan Istratie, who left the pitch in the 38th minute after being injured in Pecica after suffering an acromio-clavicular disjunction and a strain: “Bogdan was injured, he was investigated the evening after the game, he had another investigation, we are trying to see how well we can treat him as soon as possible to have him on the pitch”.

“We are glad that we had so many people also at the game against Pecica, for sure we will have many supporters also at the game against Ghiroda, we are trying to do everything to leave the stadium happy and we are expecting them in as big a number as possible”, concluded Cristian Gălan.

The match CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii – Politehnica Timisoara will be played on Friday, April 11, from 17.00, in the fourth stage of the play-off League 3, Series 9. Before this game, the blue-and-whites are leaders with 41 points, while the yellow-and-blue have 35 points and are in 3rd place.
