Politehnica Timisoara returns to home ground after almost a month. The “Alb-violetii” play on Saturday, from 17.00, in the sixth round of the play-off of League 3, Series 9, at the “Electrica” arena, against Progresul Pecica. Following this weekend, our team can mathematically secure its presence in the promotion play-off.
“We are glad to be back home because we were away from home for a long time. We come back home with confidence, although in the last round we lost in Lupeni, our confidence in our evolution, which we can have, has not diminished at all, and we hope that the crowd will be big, because the weather is forecast to be good. The last few games have been sell-outs, they’ve filled the arena, we’ve given them some good games and I think we’ll do that again on Saturday.
As I said at the start of the play-offs, all games are important, that’s why this game is very important. We know that we meet a good team, who have had some very good games, despite the results they’ve had, they’ve had some very good games. I think it will be a pretty important game. Maybe it will also have an emotional charge, considering the fact that we already know the result of the game between Ghiroda and Lupeni, plus that it can bring a qualification for the promotion play-off in League 2, but we aim to win every game we have to play in this play-off“, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.
About the desire to finish the play-off still in first place, the coach explained: “Of course it’s important, it gives you some advantages, the first place, to enter the play-off final. We want to win every game to finish in first place, because it would crown a year-long development of the boys and show maybe exactly what they have worked for and what they deserve to achieve“.
The only certain absentee from the squad is midfielder David Ciurel, suspended after being sent off in Lupeni, where he received two yellow cards. “David is suspended, everyone is training, at game time we’ll see how we look and what we can put on the pitch to win the game!“, concluded Cristian Gălan.
The match Politehnica Timisoara – Progresul Pecica will be played on Saturday, April 26, from 17.00, at the Electrica Stadium, in the sixth round of the play-off of League 3. The Alb-violets are in first place with 44 points, three more than Minerul Lupeni, who play today against CSC Ghiroda, third with 36 points, while Progresul Pecica are in fourth with 35 points.
Tomorrow’s game will be refereed by a Siberian brigade, consisting of center referee Cristian Antoni Pascu, assisted by Bogdan Șt. Vasile and Sergiu Toader. Dumitru Fl. Lac. The referee observer is Marius Nicoară (Dr. Tr. Severin) and the game delegate – Florin Știube (Resita).
Tickets for stand 2 can be purchased both online and at the stadium (from 16:00). As seating in grandstand 1 is limited, tickets for this section will only go on sale at the stadium, one hour before kick-off, limited to three tickets per person! We recommend early admission to avoid crowding at the gates. Spectators with disabilities have free access to the sidelines, while children up to the age of 12 and juniors registered with Academia Politehnica Timisoara have free entry to grandstand 2.
