Politehnica travels to newly-promoted FC Brasov this weekend for an extremely important ranking duel.

“We are ahead of an important match, difficult, but above all important, because we are playing the team immediately below us in the standings and we really need a positive result. We have prepared ourselves in this sense, even if we have important absences in the squad, I am convinced that the players who will come in will be able to make up for the absences of Lazăr and Ursu (…) I don’t know if we can call it a capital game, because there are still stages to play in the regular championship and the play-out will follow, but it is a very, very important game. That’s why I emphasized at the beginning on this important aspect and not necessarily difficult, because all games are difficult…“, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.

Asked about the recent change in the technical bench of Brasov, the coach of the white-violet team answered: “There may be a change, because it usually happens that way, but I am convinced that they will play what they have been working on during this period. Because I have seen matches with Ilie Stan and with Șanta, for sure there were changes in the system of play, but there are some automatisms that were repeated in all these games. It’s true that these have been formed over time and will probably appear in Saturday’s game. On the other hand, we can also expect surprises. It’s a different coach and then he will try to put his stamp on the game… which means we will have to be very very careful.”

Politehnica has notable absences for this duel, besides Tavi Ursu and Rareș Lazăr (suspended), our team cannot count on goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares, recovering from injury, nor on Sebastian Serediuc, whose medical problem has relapsed. As for the unjustified absence of Daniel Benzar, Politehnica’s “principal” said that “it was decided to suspend the player for the next two months. The decision has been sent to the Disciplinary Commission of the FRF for ratification…“.

Nicolae Croitoru also explained the situation of the players who were tested by the club during this period. “Balsa Rogosic we will try to bring in from winter. Stefan Vukoje will be discussed, to see if we can legitimize him for the end of the year“, said Nicu Croitoru.

Alin Ignea also spoke about the important game in Brasov. “We are facing a very important match, maybe even capital, for us the next matches are all capital from the position we are in. We hope to win, to recover, because otherwise it will be very difficult for us, especially since winter. We have three very tough games left, if we don’t get points from these games it will be an extremely hard winter from all points of view. The pressure is off, they have other people, we have to win and get it out in the end. That’s why we’re here and we hope to achieve that as soon as possible,” said the most experienced midfielder in the Polis squad.

The match Fotbal Club Brasov – Politehnica Timisoara, from the 14th round of League 2, will be played on Saturday at 12.30 pm (Digisport 1, Telekom Sport 1, Look Sport +) at the “Tineretului” stadium.
