Viorel-Aurel Șerban, president of Politehnica Timisoara, gave at today’s press conference more information about the news in the club’s organization chart, as well as details about the next steps of the joint-stock company.
“As you know, the reorganization of the club in July led to the formation of this company, which, of course, is primarily focused on football activity and as football activity we are focusing on two directions: the senior team and the children and youth centre. And women’s football is carried out in collaboration with Fortuna Becicherecu Mic. The Board of Directors is in a strong process of getting things back on track, which means finalising an organigram and filling the posts on that organigram, at the same time as the work we are doing on launching the shares, as this company was designed from the beginning, so that its shareholders are as broad a mass of people as possible. On the subject of shares, we are in a final stage of increasing the share capital and probably, as soon as possible, the first information will appear on the share packages that will be launched for Timisoara fans and supporters and for the general public in Timisoara and beyond. For all those who feel and live for Poli and who wish by buying a number of shares to be part of what this club and its history means. And, of course, at the same time, with the discussions with some companies and societies, who want to buy probably bigger stakes, but all in the concept we have thought – the Club to keep its identity, history and values”, said Viorel-Aurel Șerban.
“We are already starting to fill positions in that organigram. There will be four to five directorates. The sports directorate is the one that ‘burns’ of course. The activity is going on and we are not expected to do a lot of discussions… Following the discussions we had in the Board of Directors last week, we decided to appoint Professor Călin Rosenblum as sports director, who has been in the job since Monday… Other appointments will follow soon. This is the Sports Directorate, we also have the Administrative Directorate, the Marketing Directorate, the Scouting Directorate and so on, but we have to choose carefully and of course there are some steps, a lot of work that we are doing in the BOD during this period. But the number one concern is to have it, not only to organise and put this club on a professional basis, we have to look at what’s going on in the grass… It’s an image issue, a certain negative behaviour of the players would also do a small disservice to the efforts we are making in attracting people and convincing them of this project as a serious project and I think the only viable and reliable one in this part of the country, taking into account the way we look at sport and the principles that lie in this way of thinking… There is also a vacancy for an executive director, who will be responsible for everything that the executive means. Călin is the sports director, he is in charge of the sports directorate, his obligation is to take care of the day-to-day life of the team, the team, the coach and the problems they face,” said the president of Politehnica.
“First of all I thank the management for the offer. It was about two weeks of meetings because I wanted to educate myself on exactly what was wanted. And I know that nothing is easy, but I start with good thoughts and with the staff, the team, the supporters and of course the board of the management, I hope that we will achieve all the objectives of this project. It’s very difficult, it’s a newly established company, on different criteria than others have been before, but we are moving forward, we are looking for people at every level who can cope and are willing to help us. I found a good mood in the team, although the last results didn’t help us, but I have a lot of confidence in Dorin and the staff. I’ve already had two meetings with the boys and I hope that tomorrow, when we meet again in training camp, it will be even better. Everything depends on the match against Csikszereda, it’s vital, we have to win, then we go optimistically to the Romanian Cup game”, concluded Călin Rosenblum, Politehnica’s sports director.
