Politehnica Timisoara won, 5-0 (3-0), in the friendly played on Saturday, at Base 2, in the company of fellow team CS Avântul Periam.
The Alb-violets opened the scoring quickly, after not ten minutes of play, through Radu Ciurel, who stayed in the opponent’s box after a corner kick and scored a simple goal following a rebound. Poli dominated the encounter and created more chances before the first scorer’s twin brother made it 2-0. David Ciurel took advantage of a mistake in front of goal and scored in the 29th minute with a shot from outside the box just wide of Mureșan’s left-hand post. Not two minutes later Bogdan Istratie scored from the box with a short-corner shot.
At the restart, due to the numerous changes in our team, there were fewer goals, but two more goals came at the end of the match. First of all Sebi Avramescu (74th min.) spectacularly hit a half-footed shot from the center of the box for 4-0. The last goal, which also confirmed the final score, came from the foot of junior David Roșca (90) – a cross-shot that sent the ball high into the corner of the net.

“We tried to put on the field what we have been practicing in the last few days, because we had two days since the last match, in which we established some clearer things. We were left with a numerically smaller group of players. We have a different structure in training and a lot of the things that we asked for in this game were also there at the end of last year. It was basically a refresh of what we did at the end of the first part of the championship. The players practiced almost everything we wanted. They were quite determined, quite aggressive, even very good at times”, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.
A more intense week of trainings follows for the white-violets, which will end with a school-game. The next friendly will be Saturday, February 8, against second division CSC Dumbrăvița.
“There will be a week of a lot of training. Because we’ll try to have double training days, at least three out of five days will be double training. Plus, at the end of the week, we’re going to have a game between us, because we need to increase the minutes of the players. Today we played 45 on 45. Two players played 60. Some played less because we’re outnumbered. And at the end of the week, only good, we can give more minutes to all of them, because then we have two more tests in a row in a couple of days and then the test in Kikinda after that. And already we have to lay the foundations of what we want to happen during the championship in the first three rounds, because they are very important”, concluded Cristi Gălan.
