Politehnica Timisoara lost for the first time in Pecica to ACS Progresul, 0-1 (0-1), after a goal scored by Andrei Halos in the first half of the match in the 11th round of League 3. The Alb-violets put the ball in the net in the second half, but Eduard Amariei’s goal was disallowed.

Our team started the game offensively and benefited from several corners. On the first action in the Timisoara’s box, in the 13th minute, the ball rejected by Vlaicu reached Halos, about 18 meters away and he scored with a shot to the left of Enășescu. And after that moment Poli had more of the initiative, but the game was extremely fragmented. The hosts suffered several injuries throughout the encounter. Rotariu sent in a powerful shot in the 34th minute, twice saved by Zamfir. Then, in the 37th minute Pureca could have scored, but his rebound from a fall near the bottom corner of the box was faulty.

The second half was even more full of interruptions. However, in the 62nd minute Istratie went close, but his shot also went wide. Four minutes later Poli managed to score, but Amariei’s header from a bundle of players was disallowed for offside from David Popa’s free kick. The end didn’t bring any more important chances for the white-violets, who couldn’t find solutions to the play of the Arabs. The latter had another important chance in extra time, when Kyrychenko speculated an error, but Enășescu was opposed. In the fourth minute of extra time David Ciurel suffered a severe sprain and was unable to continue the match.

Poli remain in 6th place with 13 points in Serie 9 of Ligue 3. Lotus Băile Felix will play next Saturday at “Electrica”.

We have a big lack of inspiration in finishing, we hardly ever score goals, even though we are in situations to score goals, we don’t interpret the actions well even though we train every day, we try to get them into every possible situation but we get to the game and we don’t make the best decisions. David Ciurel has a severe leg sprain after a severe leg tackle. I didn’t understand why the referee didn’t blow the whistle for us on that action. It doesn’t matter, it’s already over. It’s frustrating because we tried to play, we created situations, but we only had two finishing chances, which we missed, but we could have definitely scored without any problems in the situations we had.
