The Blue and Whites ended today the hardest period of the winter physically. The Polytechnic players trained locally in good conditions. Staying at the Politehnica House No. 2, where they also had the use of the gym, our team carried out most of their training sessions at the Sports Centre No. 2.
Head coach Nicolae Croitoru was satisfied with the contribution of the players during the centralized training camp that started on January 17.
“I think it was a useful period, it was a period of accumulation, of course the focus was on the physical factor, but the other training factors were also addressed during this period. We have three weeks of games coming up. What we have done during this period we hope to see in the upcoming games, but especially in the championship matches!“, said Nicolae Croitoru.
“As I told them earlier, their participation was good, positive, even if we had some difficulties, which are related to the weather, related to the condition of the fields and so on… I’m glad we didn’t have any serious injuries. Apart from Rogosic, who suffered an injury and had to stay out of training, not all of it, because he did some training… the rest, even if there were some problems, they were minor problems that did not affect the training program of the players“, concluded the coach of the white-violet team.
Absent from training on the pitch for the whole training camp was midfielder Cosmin Bîrnoi, who “is following a recovery programme. He also took part in part of the training sessions, in the gym, but we expect him to be fit and to integrate into the team’s programme“. The 24-year-old suffered an adductor injury before the start of the training camp.
Coach Nicolae Croitoru also spoke about the first new confirmed addition to the Polist squad this winter – attacking midfielder Alexandru Iamandache (22, FC Pucioasa): “I know him well, I’ve known him for a long time, he is a player that I trust will confirm, even if he is a higher level. I hope he will be able to adapt to the demands of League 2, he has the quality, he has shown in training that he is very motivated, we are waiting for the results!“.
At the end of today’s training session, one that made full use of the “work object”, the players were given the rest of the weekend off.
Next week Politehnica will play their first two friendly games of 2022. On Wednesday, February 2, from 16.00, at Politehnica’s Base 2, the white-violet team will receive the visit of CSC Dumbrăvița, then on Saturday, February 5, from 13.00, our team will meet CSM Reșița away.
