This week Politehnica organised a test for young players. The participants were juniors born between 2003 and 2006 from our own academy, some of them already in the first team circuit, players on loan at League 3 level, as well as a number of players who have no contractual ties with our club.

This squad also had two test matches, with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday against CSC Dumbrăvița (4th place in Series 8 of League 3) and a 1-4 defeat on Thursday against CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii (C8 leaders). Both games were played at Politehnica’s Base 2 (synthetic pitch).

The conclusions at the end of this training camp were presented by Politehnica’s head coach. “There were more than 30 players, mostly from our centre, players on loan from League 3 clubs, there were also a number of players from outside the club, mostly young players. I would divide the players into several categories. In relation to the academy players, we wanted to get as complete a picture as possible of their potential. Of course, there are interesting players. We’ll decide by the start of training which of them will come to the big team training sessions, but we’ll probably try to work in a broader framework and also offer training games to the other Academy players during this training period, so that we can easily introduce them to the senior team circuit. About the players from outside, the loan players, we still have to decide, we are still thinking about one player to stay, to see him and at the beginning of training, to make a decision. And of those who come from outside, no player will stay“, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.

From today the Poles are on holiday for a month and will resume preparations on Monday, 10 January 2022.
