Politehnica Timisoara is looking for its first success in the 2024-25 edition of League 3, on Friday in Sânmartin, in Bihor county, against CS Lotus Băile Felix. The white-violets are optimistic as almost the entire squad is valid.
“We have information about the opponent, because they played last match against Peciu Nou. We also read some things from their newspapers in the area, but we don’t have too much data, except what we know from what they did in the match against Peciu. We know that they combine experience with youth, we know that they play a pretty direct game and that they form a good team. The atmosphere is good, we’re preparing, everyone is fit, we have no problems with the squad, so we’re optimistic for the upcoming trip,” said Cristian Gălan, Politehnicii’s head coach.
The Alb-violets will again be able to rely on Aurel Vlaicu, who served his suspension against Progresul Pecica (1-1). Otherwise, both Răzvan Erceanu and Marco Lazăr are training with their colleagues. “They are in training but I don’t know how much we can rely on them, I think some of them will have to make their first appearance in the Elite to make up for lost time and get minutes there, then they will have to enter the senior matches,” added Cristi Gălan. Cosmin Huminic is also still recovering.
“We will definitely have a tough game ahead of us, like all the others, because from what I’ve seen it’s a pretty balanced series. The details will probably make the difference in this game as well and I hope the boys will be focused and avoid any mistakes, which we have already made and hopefully won’t make again. In both games we conceded the first goal, but I’m pleased with the reaction of the boys, because each time they came back: in Lupeni, we could have led 2-1 at half-time. We had a crossbar on the last play of the first half, in the game against Pecica we could have won at the end and so could they. The reaction of the boys was good, maybe if we avoid the slight mismatches we can win the game”, Cristian Gălan, Politehnica Timisoara coach”
If Politehnica recorded two draws in the first two rounds of the championship, 2-2 at Lupeni and 1-1 at home to Progresul Pecica. Lotus Băile Felix have won and lost by the same score: 1-0 at home to Gloria LT Cermei in the opening round and 0-1 at Peciu Nou last weekend.
The match CS Lotus Băile Felix – Politehnica Timișoara will be played on Friday, September 13, from 17.00, at the “Comunal” stadium in Sânmartin (BH), in the third round of League 3, Series 9.
