Politehnica Timișoara receives the visit of CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii on Saturday, May 3, at 6.00 pm, in the seventh round of the play-off of League 3. The white-violets want to secure their first place in Series 9 after having already secured tickets for the promotion play-off.

It will be the last encounter in the play-off against CSC Ghiroda, who still retain only theoretical chances of catching the second position in the standings.

“We would like it to be the last one (n.r. against Ghiroda) overall in the next years. I think we will have a very tough game ahead of us, because the last stage played for them was not very favorable and they will probably want to show something different from the last game they had. Moreover, the last game against us for them was not the most successful one and then they will definitely want to show more. We know that we have a tough match ahead of us, we try to play it to win, like all the others and get the most out of it“, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii Timișoara.

For the next game midfielder David Ciurel is fit again after being suspended last round. “We are training, we are trying to do our best, we have some medical problems, but we hope they won’t be serious until the game, otherwise the boys are ready, at the time of the game we hope to have a very good game and to be able to enjoy ourselves at the end of it“, the coach of the White and Violet team said about the condition of the players.

In the last four home games Poli had each time more than a thousand paying spectators at the “Electrica” arena and an average of around 1,500 fans. “We are happy for this. At every home game in the last matches we had a very good average of spectators. This is the way I want to thank them and I hope we don’t disappoint them with the game we are playing. I think the last game, the one against Pecica, was also a spectacular game for the people who were at the game, for those who attended. For us it was more difficult, a merry-go-round of emotions, because they had their chances, we had ours. We want to have beautiful football, because we are sure that this will attract the crowd to the stadium. Also by playing good football the results will come. And we will not deviate from this path!”, concluded Cristi Gălan.

Asked if the cops have started watching their potential play-off opponents in Series 10 (Minaur Baia Mare, CSM Olimpia Satu Mare or SCM Zalău will be the White-Violets’ semi-final opponents), he replied, “We have watched very little because there are no videos at all, I think we caught one replay of their last game. We’ll try to get all the details on them, we’ll try to get as much detail as we can by game time. We know other opposing teams that they’ve played, we can get our information from them as well. In the end I think it all depends on us and to be as well prepared as possible for the play-offs at that time“.

The match Politehnica Timisoara – CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii will be played on Saturday, May 3, at 6.00 pm, in the seventh round of the play-off (antepenultimate) of League 3, Series 9. Prior to this game, the White-Violets are in first place with 47 points, while the guests are in third place with 36 points. A win, coupled with a defeat for Lupeniului against Progresului Pecica, would secure our team 1st place in the standings.
