Dan Alexa: “Tomorrow you will see a changed first 11”
The white-purples are lining up after a bad period in terms of results. Tomorrow, Politehnica wants to get the first victory in the playoffs in the company of FK Csikszereda, a group with which they are tied for points.
“We are ahead of a game with Ciuc, a team that surprised me this season. As a game development and as a dynamic, I think they have the best dynamics of all the teams in this play-off. It’s a young team, a team that has invested a lot. It’s an important game for us, it would practically be the last chance to fight at a dam. We come after a very bad result in Mioveni and players who have evolved less will be part of the team. This is their chance to finish this championship, to prove that they can fight for a starting position in the future “, said Dan Alexa.
“From the very beginning, I will say that I will not fire anyone. It’s just that I’m forced to lower my average age at the moment. We are the team with the highest average, of 29-30 years old, it has been shown that when we play with the teams with averages of 23-24 years old we always have a speed less. That doesn’t diminish my appreciation for them in any way, it’s just that it’s time for a change. It’s time for young players to have chances, to evolve. For two reasons: to be able to increase the speed of the game and to prepare for the next season. Because, I repeat, but I see that only the last result is taken into account, this club has grown enormously in the last year. We ended up talking about a promotion, a new stadium, the question arose: if we promote, where will we play !? (…) My disappointment is that the good things were forgotten very quickly and there are a lot of dissatisfactions, on the one hand I understand, the fan always wants to win, and in the end that’s why he invests a lot in football. Because it is pure passion and things must be treated as such “, said the head coach of the white-violets.
“There are players who also have medical problems, there are no problems with the suspensions, but surely tomorrow you will see a changed first 11”, he specified regarding the situation of the group.
Dan Alexa also provided details about the discussion with the club’s management, which convinced him to continue as a coach until the end of the current season: “It is a difficult moment and maybe if I had left I would have signaled that I had capitulated. It’s not normal, it was a year with a lot of difficulties, with a lot of satisfactions, Poli has to continue and as long as there is another chance we have to play it. I respect those who lead too much. It’s a different kind of club here and everyone loves Poli… These people need to be supported and understood. The fact that I came back is due only to them… ”.
“Politehnica has to go ahead, in all forms, I am and I will remain a Politehnica supporter and I think I have shown. And I’m with the team. Now that I’m not going to be a coach anymore, that’s it, we’re trying to reorganize as a club, to make a plan for next year. Because we raised the bar and we have to raise it even higher, this is the way to return to League I.… People are unhappy, I tell them that they have no reason, because absolutely everything has been done to enter League I. That no I was inspired, because I was unlucky, but this is in a campaign… but it is also a passion to be convinced that everyone around the team was 100%… ”, Dan Alexa, head coach of Politehnica Timişoara.
The match Politehnica Timişoara – AFK Csikszereda will be played tomorrow, April 24, at 12.30 (broadcast on Digisport 1, Telekom Sport 1, Look Sport +), in the 5th round of the League 2 play-off. Both teams have 33 each of points, the white-violets being on the 6th place due to the lower goal average.
