An important part of Politehnica Timisoara’s team last season, striker David Popa has strengthened his commitment with our club and will remain in the blue and white for the 2024-25 season!

“I am extremely happy to continue at Politehnica Timisoara. Last year I had some unique feelings and experiences that I would like to relive as much as possible this season. I fell in love with this team and this city. I can see my future here. When I got the call to come back, I didn’t think too much, I knew exactly what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be. The supporters here made me feel at home and I think I can call this place home. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters who still support this team and want Poli not to die and not to collapse. This city deserves a team that has goals and big thoughts. And I want to be part of this project for as long as possible. I sincerely hope that we will achieve many beautiful things this season, even if it will be difficult, even if we start from a different point than last season. I’m confident that with the support of the club and the supporters we will be able to do well again. Popa (26) was Politehnica’s top scorer in the 2023-24 season, with 16 goals scored in 24 Liga 3 matches.

“I would also like to thank Mr. Gălan and Mr. Brîndescu for having appealed to me and having confidence in me and my services. I very much enjoyed their appreciation and I was very open and pleasantly surprised by the ideas and principles that they want to implement in our team,” concluded the striker, originally from Transylvania.
