“We knew we were in for a tough game, with a homogeneous team, with a team with strong players, players with quality in attack. It was a game where, despite the score, we had our very good situations and moments where we could have turned the game around. Unfortunately on the first attacking action, practically the first corner against us, we conceded a goal. After that we had 1-2 very good chances to score, Bîrnoi alone with the goalkeeper blocked and Bătănași from 10-11 meters shot over the goal”, commented the coach of the first half.

Bogdan Andone believes that there were big mistakes in the Poles’ defence: “We tried in the second half to put pressure and we conceded two goals in 2-3 minutes, goals that we are not allowed to concede. Lack of marking in the box, and on the third goal the ball was cleared from the goalkeeper, the ball from 70 yards out. These are mistakes that don’t happen even in the 5th, 6th league, I haven’t seen in professional or semi-professional football such mistakes. We had chances again, their goalkeeper had a good day, we had a chance at 2-0 Bîrnoi, the goalkeeper kicked out, then a bar … maybe we didn’t make the right decisions, maybe we were a bit unlucky in the attacking phase, but, I repeat, the very big mistakes made by our team led to this catastrophic result”, said the head coach.

On the “scolding” the players received at the end of the match from the away supporters, Andone said, “The supporters were rightly unhappy, because they want determination, they want attitude, they want to see these things on the pitch. I conveyed these things to the players before the match, because it’s an important point in our philosophy of the game and what we want to do here at Poli in the future. Unfortunately today there were moments and moments and the supporters were absolutely right, because the opposing team was superior. I told the supporters that I’m sorry, I take this defeat personally. At the same time I also want to thank them for being with the team and I hope and wish they will be in the future.
