Politehnica Under 15 has today found out its programme for the Elite League semi-final tournament, which will take place from 6-10 May. The boys coached by Paul Codrea will face ACS Gloria Tăuții-Măgherăuș, CS Atletico Arad and Universitatea Craiova at the “Banatul” arena in the Sânnicolau Mic district of Arad. The top two finishers will qualify for the national final tournament!
Our under-15s continue their fine run in the 2021-22 season by participating in the semi-final tournament 2. Polytechnic U15 qualified for this stage from the 2nd place of the quarterfinal group, hosted at Polytechnic’s own Base 2.
The white-violets will debut in the “semi-final” on Friday, May 6, at 11:00, against the Maramures team of Gloria Tăuții-Măgherăuș, one of the surprises of the competition. The second game is on Sunday, May 8, at the same time, against local CS Atletico Arad, while Politehnica’s last game in the tournament will be on Tuesday, May 10, at 13:00, against “old acquaintance” Universitatea Craiova, the team that won the quarter-final group in Timisoara after beating us in the direct duel.
“I was expecting to play these teams, I knew that’s how it would be divided in the semi-final tournament. Of course, we’ll leave with the third chance, because Atletico Arad, which we know very well, is also a very good team, Craiova – they beat us in the direct match – and with the team from Maramureș we have to fight. I say 50% chance to go further. We are at a disadvantage because we play on grass, as we don’t really train on grass, but on synthetic, and now it’s the Easter holiday and it’s a bit more complicated, but we try to train in the next period on a natural field“, said Paul Codrea, coach of Politehnica Timișoara Under 15.
The top two finishers in the Arad group will qualify for the final tournament, scheduled for 24 and 25 May. The other semi-final group consists of ACS FC Bacău, ACS Kids Tâmpa Brașov, Farul Constanța and Fotbal Club FCSB.
