Politehnica ended the match at home against FC Brasov in the third round of League 2 with no goals scored. It was an active 0-0, in which the white-violet had the most important chances in the first half. The guests evened the ratio in the second half, one in which they remained from the 62nd minute in numerical inferiority after the elimination of Eduard Lambrinoc.

Back at home, in front of a very keen crowd, Bogdan Andone’s pupils took the initiative early on. There was no shortage of tension and no shortage of yellow cards. In the 22nd minute Zaluschi shot from outside the box, but Micu saved over the crossbar. At the end of the first half Silviu Pană came close to scoring twice. First with a rebound from the centre of the box from Bîrnoi’s cross (41), then with a shot from distance (45+2). Each time the Brasov goalkeeper had an answer.

At the restart, the Ardelens could have opened the scoring in the 52nd minute – Chică-Roșă’s header over the goal, respectively 55 – Lambrinoc’s cross from the left flank was blocked by Oltean. Lambrinoc was to be sent off seven minutes later when he forced a penalty in a duel with another junior on the pitch – the polished Dan Pureca. The visiting player saw his second yellow card for simulation.

With an extra man, Politehnica could have struck in the 70th minute through debutant Adi Țangulea – heading just wide of the target. The game fragmented towards the end with a series of free kicks for both sides. It could also have been 1-0 in the 89th minute, when Alin Ignea took a corner kick in the corner of the box and shot against the bar near the far corner. The match ended with V. Constantin.

Following this result Politehnica has accumulated four points after three games, while FC Brasov has two points from the same number of games. In the next round, the white-violet team will play at home against newly promoted AFC Progresul 1944 Spartac.
