We could not let the 100 years of Politehnica Timisoara be marked without paying more attention to the future.
From 3-5 September our city will be transformed into a huge nursery dedicated to our beloved sport. Nearly one hundred youth teams will compete on fields located in several locations of the Banat capital.
Nine different generations will take part in the competitions, from kids born in 2015, who are starting to learn the secrets of the king’s sport, to juniors who have turned or will turn 14 in 2021 and are entering the straight line for the preparation of their long dreamed career.
There’s no shortage of high-profile guests from across the border either. Guests from abroad will include Red Star Belgrade, Vojvodina Novi Sad, FK Cukaricki (Serbia), Goran Pandev Academy (North Macedonia) and FC National Sofia (Bulgaria). And among the participating clubs from the country, besides Politehnica Timișoara, we mention of course the names of some traditional centres such as CFR Cluj, FCSB, UTA, Atletico Arad, CSM Reșița, LPS Banatul, Kids Tâmpa Brașov, “U” Cluj, Ripensia Timișoara, Unirea Alba Iulia, Academia Gică Popescu and Academia Răzvan Raț.
The arenas and sports bases that await the children are: “Dan Păltinișanu”, Știința, Baza 2 Politehnica, “Adrian Stoicov”, Electrica, Auto (Freidorf district), Alborz (“Lajos”) and LPS Banatul.
“It is an event that is part of the events dedicated to the Centenary of the club. It is part of our strategy to develop our youth centre, youth sport in general and to promote Politehnica. It’s a very important tournament for Timisoara and it’s one of a special magnitude. There will be nine age groups, almost one hundred teams, many of them famous clubs from home and abroad, and there will be perhaps two thousand children participating. They will all be welcome in our city”, Viorel-Aurel Șerban, President of Politehnica Timișoara.
The logistics are provided by Politehnica Timisoara University, in collaboration with the Timisoara Supporters’ Association “Druckeria”. We will come back with more information on our communication channels. Good luck to all!
