Goalkeeper coaches from Politehnica Timisoara Academy attended a three-day International Goalkeeper Coaching Workshop in Wroclaw (Poland) where Mădălin Smaranda, Florin Rusu and Dragoș Coroban had the opportunity to learn new methods specific to goalkeeper coaching. The courses were presented by some of the best goalkeeping coaches in Europe, who train goalkeepers for clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Hertha Berlin, Internazionale Milano and Bayer Leverkusen, plus the goalkeeping coach of the Polish national team.

Mădălin Smaranda told us: “This is the second year I’m going there. It’s the biggest international goalkeeping coaches’ workshop in Europe. This year it was also under the auspices of UEFA. Those who had acquired licenses received UEFA points. The second year that the highest possible goalkeeper coaches from Europe came. They are people who develop and create ideas, the things they do are at the highest level. I’m glad they can and that they go there, the information is as useful as it can be and, to our surprise, very simple, nothing complicated. Very well organised and very well structured. The key word is ‘coaching the game’.”
