Goalkeepers, on the hand of “Pepu”
A very important compartment for any football team, that of the goalkeepers, has undergone changes at the Polytechnic lately. The most able to tell us about the expectations of those who will defend the white-violet butts in this second part of the championship is our coach with the goalkeepers – Petru Ţurcaş.
Born on May 16, 1976, in Timişoara, the nicknamed “Pepu” made his debut at only 17 years old in Division A in FC Politehnica’s shirt. And later in his career, he was also noted for his sensational journey with CFR Cluj until the UEFA Intertoto Cup final. As a player, he also defended the gates of CFR Timişoara, Gloria Bistriţa and Unirea Alba Iulia and at the end of his career he returned “in the area” to AC Recaş and Millenium Giarmata. As a coach he holds a UEFA B license and logically specialized in goalkeeper training, doing this job at Millennium Giarmata and ACS Poli before joining our team at the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
This winter, the department in charge of defending the logs underwent new modifications at the Polytechnic. Our team broke up with Emanuel Fişteag, who had also been active in two other different periods for our club, and Marko Deronja, Slovenian goalkeeper who will continue his season with his teammate Aerostar Bacău. Both had defended only one match for the white-violets in the 2020-21 edition.
The Polytechnic is still based on the services of Otto Hindrich (18 years old), who arrived in autumn (loan, CFR Cluj), and George Păduraru (25 years old), enlisted this winter (ex-Ripensia) to secure the gate. “First of all, for me, this work is a pleasure. And in the end I hope to achieve our goal, that’s the most important thing! … I am satisfied with how the boys performed during this period, but the exam is the match, we will see when the championship starts if what I worked on was useful or not. We have two goalkeepers we rely on now: Hindrich and Păduraru. Hindrich is a young, promising goalkeeper, and Păduraru, with a middle age, has some experience and we hope to help us when needed. The competition is open, it only depends on them how they prepare and how they defend “, he said Petru Ţurcaş.
About Otto, integralist in eight championship games in 2020 for our team, Ţurcaş specified that “he is a developing goalkeeper, over time he gains experience and will improve his physical, technical and mental qualities. For me, the mental quality of a goalkeeper is very important, of concentration, of positioning, within the goal and the field ”.
For the third goalkeeper solution, in case of need, our club can use this season the junior Mario Cuzmanovici (17 years old), who was among the kids in training with the seniors of the Polytechnic lately. The young goalkeeper from his own nursery is the owner of the white-violet team from the U17 Elite League
.
New name
George Adrian Păduraru was born on May 2, 1995, in Botoşani, and is 1.97 meters tall. He grew up at LPS Banatul and also worked at Ştiinţa Miroslava, Millenium Giarmata, Naţional Sebiş and CSM Lugoj. His last team was Ripensia Timişoara, for which he totaled 17 appearances at the level of the Second League.
“I am happy first of all because I arrived at the Polytechnic. Every time I played against her there was a very nice atmosphere created by the fans. Unfortunately, they can’t come to the stadium now, but we will wait for them with open arms when they can. I hope to achieve our goals, by the staff, by the club. It will be a very hard fight, there are 11-12 teams fighting up there, but we will try and I hope to get a place of direct promotion in League I “, were the first thoughts of George Păduraru from the position of white-purple.
George Păduraru signed a contract valid for a year and a half with Politehnica.
