Politehnica Timisoara has Saturday, at the “Electrica” stadium, the last home duel before the semifinals of the promotion play-off for promotion to League 2. With a win against Minerului Lupeni, the white-violets will secure the 1st place in Series 9 with one round to go before the end of the play-off!
“We have the last home game of this championship, let’s say regular championship plus play-off. We are in for a very tough game, a game where we will have to work very hard for the three points. Because we will play against a very good Miner’s team and then we will have to be prepared, to do everything necessary to be 100% fit and ready to win this game“, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.
About the discussions with the players after last round’s 0-1 defeat against CSC Ghiroda on home ground, the coach of the team said: “We talked, we had discussions about the game, we had discussions about several things this week. The lads are fine, we are training, the fact that we lost a game in this play-off at home is not the end of the world, at the end of the day we have to look at where we are in the standings and all the results we have had so far. I think very few people could have given us these chances of success. And they should be appreciated for these things and for sure we will have positive results in the future“.
Unfortunately, Poli will be without the services of midfielder Alex Militaru, who suffered a strong ankle contusion in the first half of the game against Ghiroda. “We have small problems with some of the players, but the squad is big enough, we have players who can replace them, we’ll see at the game against Lupeni if we are all physically okay,” said Cristian Gălan.
“We expect to have a full stadium. We expect everyone in the stadium to cheer us on. We know that our opponents will come with a small gallery, we expect it to be a good show, both in the gallery and on the pitch. And at the end of it, let’s be the winners!“, Politehnicii’s head coach concluded.
