Nice match. First of all I would like to say that the presence in this stage of the competition is the fruit of the work done by Dorin Toma and the team and I think it should be appreciated as such. The Cup is a competition with its own specificity, we all know this and seen from this perspective allows us to have hopes. As for the game against Rapid, I think it is a game that will allow us to get to know each other, to evaluate our potential at the moment and in relation to the level of League I, because that is where we all want to return in the not too distant future. From the perspective of the supporters, because football is for the supporters, I think it is the most interesting match of this stage of the Romanian Cup, because the two most beautiful galleries meet and they are also twinned. I am convinced that from this point of view it will be a great show in the stands. It remains for us and we hope to achieve this, to rise to the level of the show in the stands and, of course, to play a very good game and get a very good result, why not!“, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.

He emphasized that the desire of the white-violet team to win must be even greater because last season Giules won all the matches: “Of course, it was practically decided there who stays in League 2 and who goes to League 1. Because if Rapid didn’t win in Timisoara, their situation wasn’t exactly rosy… they hardly made the play-offs… It’s very good that we’re playing a League 1 team, to grow we have to face difficult opponents“.

Nicolae Croitoru is currently taking part in the U19 national team action, where he is the assistant coach and where our player Doru Andrei was selected. This week the training sessions of the white-violet team are led by the technical staff composed of Lucian Dobre (assistant coach), Antonio Foale (assistant coach), Mădălin Smaranda (goalkeeping coach), Adrian Rus (physiokinetic therapist) and Marius Inciulescu (physiotherapist).

Politehnica will play on Saturday, October 9, at 11.00, at Covaci, a verification game against CSC Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii, the leader of the 8th Series of League 3.
