Coach Nicolae Croitoru appreciated the attitude of the white-violet players in Slobozia, but stressed that the condition of the pitch made it impossible to play normal football. Politehnica was defeated by Unirea (0-1) in the 10th round through the goal of Răzvan Greu.

“Unfortunately we can talk less about football today, it was more of a mud fight. I can only remark the very good attitude that the whole team had, throughout the game. Unfortunately we had prepared something all week and couldn’t apply anything. It was nothing but a fighting game. And I wondered if it was ok to play on such a pitch. Because, I repeat, we can’t talk about football. The ball wasn’t bouncing… There was a lot of contact, there could have been injuries. The decision does not belong to us“, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.

Our team could not count on the services of Claudiu Pamfile, who is still recovering. “Pamfile will be in the team’s programme on Monday… We preferred to let Moțiu play 90 minutes (in the Elite League), as he had the possibility to travel and play little or not at all. Then, being also a very young player, it’s important to have minutes at the end of the weekly cycle,” Croitoru explained.
