Politehnica achieved today its first championship success under coach Nicolae Croitoru. The coach of the white-violet team noted the better play of his students in the second half of the match won 1-0 in Brasov.
“It was a difficult game, as we expected. A first half in which we were concerned not to give too many chances to the opponent, to try to surprise on the counter. At least this attack/counter-attack part didn’t go very well for us. But the second half was much better. In which we scored, created more scoring chances and for the most part had control of the game. It’s an important win for us, because we really needed the three points, on the one hand, and on the other hand, because it gives us confidence and peace of mind for next week, to prepare the end of the year“, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.
Nicu Croitoru also talked about the debut of the youngster from his own nursery – Daniel Olariu (born in 2004) – and pointed out that our team at one point used four juniors on the pitch at the same time: “With little chance a debut with a goal. And he (n.r. Olariu, in the 88th minute) had a good shot, a good situation to score. We’re happy for him and I think it’s worth noting that at one point we had four juniors on the pitch plus a player under 21.”
“We hope that next week we will also play a good game… Especially since there is a possibility, from what I read in the press, to let the spectator games go and I would like with these positive results to make them happy too“, concluded the white-violet coach.
