The white-violet team accomplished their mission in the first play-out game, Politehnica beating Danarea Calarasi 3-0 (2-0).

“A win, three points, with an opponent, who, with all due respect, is going through a difficult period at the moment. For sure we would have liked to score more, especially in the second half, because we also had peace of mind. We also created some situations that we missed quite easily…”, said Nicolae Croitoru, Politehnica’s head coach.

“They had a header against the bar in the second half, a ball that we dealt with very superficially from a corner kick, and they had another situation, also created by us after all, as it was a pass from us. Things that are the consequence of relaxing, because there was also this danger of treating the game superficially. That was not the case. But maybe we became a bit more loose in the second half, when we could have scored a lot more”, said the white-violet’s coach in reference to today’s game at “Știința”.

“It gave us the necessary peace of mind to prepare the game against Csikszereda in the next two weeks”, concluded Nicu Croitoru.

Ioan Mera and Adrian Zaluschi were absent from our match squad (injured).

On the occasion of the “international break”, which applies from this season also at League 2 level, our team will play a special friendly against FC Rapid – the opening match of the new Giules’ arena – on 26 March. “It is first of all very important, the two galleries are twinned and I think it will be a special thing. On the other hand, taking into account that there are quite a lot of young players in our squad too, I think it’s an experience from which they can only gain. These kinds of games help them develop. On the other hand I would say that it is a test that helps us to prepare the next matches”, said the “principal” of Politehnica.
