Politehnica Timisoara lost their 6th round match of League 2 away to Metaloglobus Bucharest after a nightmare finish. Octavian Ursu opened the scoring in the first half for our team, but the hosts scored four times in the second half to win 4-1.
The white-violet started the game very well on the “synthetic” in Pantelimon district. In the 9th minute Bîrnoi was blocked by Caramalău in the box. The ball bounced from the latter to Octavian Ursu, who scored with a shot from seven meters with all the opposition of goalkeeper Gavrilaș. It could have been 2-0 just three minutes later, but this time Ursu’s shot went past the goalkeeper’s left post. Metaloglobus then had more of the ball. But even so, Pamfile (18th minute) and then Ursu (39th), with a long-range shot, gave Gavrilaș more first-half jitters.
The hosts made no less than four changes at half-time, while Bîrnoi had to come off the field because of a strain. The tie was restored in the 58th minute following a long corner cross, which the newcomer Alexandru Enache hit near the bar. At 1-1, Ignea (68 and 69) had two great chances, a volleyed shot from distance, which Gavrilaș saved with difficulty in the corner, and a low shot from in front of the box, which was saved by the same goalkeeper. In the 76th minute Pamfile sent wide from the penalty area and in the next phase Ovidiu Herea’s shot was blocked by Păduraru, but the ball reached Florescu and he took his team into the lead. The 83rd minute brought another goal for the hosts as Ovidiu Herea scored from the penalty area after a through ball. The nightmare half ended with a penalty kick after an intervention by Păduraru on Enache, our goalkeeper touched the ball first and felt it after the contact. From the spot Claudiu Herea set the final score.
Politehnica remained with seven points in the standings and is currently in 11th position. In the next round of League 2 we welcome the visit of FK Csikszereda.
