Politehnica Timișoara today initialed a new partnership with a club from our county. The Timişul Şag Sports Club, a group with a long tradition at the level of the 4th League, joins the white-violet family in a collaboration that aims especially at the development of young players.

„This partnership is part of our project to discuss with all sports entities in Timisoara and near the city, to select the most valuable juniors. It’s an agreement similar to those signed with other clubs in the area. The saga has also grown many players and have talented juniors. It is a beneficial collaboration for both clubs because we can help promote these young people. And we don’t just limit ourselves to these things, maybe we will help the players from the club from Sag, if necessary for their objectives. We can also help each other in terms of infrastructure, through the common use of sports facilities… The people from Timiş are very open and we are glad that we found this opportunity”, said Viorel-Aurel Şerban, president of the Timişoara Politechnica.

„We have long wanted to reach an agreement with the club, which, without upsetting others, is the flagship football club of the people of Banat. Now it has materialized, we are happy for the understanding and openness we found, we want to thank all those who contributed. Especially to Mr. Viorel Şerban and, last but not least, to Mr. Marius Adam. It is a partnership at the level of children and juniors, when a junior is found who is likely to take the step to a higher level, we want this club to be Politehnica. They will have the first option for any player raised in their own nursery. We have the unconditional support of the Şag Local Council and in a very special way of our mayor, Flavius Alin Roşu, without him we would not have been able to do anything. The support of public authorities is very important” said Dejan Ianoşev, the director of directorul Clubului Sportiv Timişul Şag.

CS Timişul Şag was founded in 1962. Since 1994 the club has been active without interruption at the level of the fourth echelon. On seven occasions, the white-blues finished the championship on the second position, the 2nd place they occupied, with chances to win the “D” and last season, interrupted due to the pandemic. In the Romanian Cup, Timiş was once one step away from reaching the round of 16.

We remind you that Politehnica Timişoara has recently concluded similar partnerships with the clubs Electrica 1929 Timişoara, FC Auto Timişoara, CS Atletico Timişoara, Vulturii Pădureni and Fortuna Becicherecu Mic.
