We are pleased to announce the partnership agreement between our club and the Sports Club Association “Ambassadors of Hope”. Through this initiative Politehnica comes to the support of young athletes with disabilities in Timisoara and Timis County.

The Sports Club Association Ambasadorii Speranței was founded in August 2021 and operates in Timișoara. The club is aimed at athletes, both children and adults, with intellectual and motor disabilities. The president of the association is physiotherapist Marius Pârjol (34), who has been working with several young people in the sports field for about a decade through the Foundation for the Empowerment of Hope Timisoara. The main aim is rehabilitation through physical activities. And over the years the young people trained by Pârjol have achieved a number of important performances in Special Olympics competitions.

“I had no idea that the people at Poli would be so open. I was really happy, because we are now at the beginning of our journey with the club. The kids have been doing sports for a long time, I’ve been working with them for ten years. We do swimming, athletics, they are champions! When we started, we did it in a therapeutic role. We didn’t think we would evolve and do competitive sports. Through the Special Olympics we set up the sports club and I am responsible for Timis County. I want to thank the people involved, Alin Ionescu, for being very open, Oli (n.r. coach Orlando Stefan) for putting us in touch… The most important thing is to help the children as much as we can“, said Marius Pârjol, president of ACS Ambassadors of Hope.

The youngsters trained by Marius range in age from 8 to 30. They take part in regional, national and international competitions under the aegis of Special Olympics. Every year the Timisoara team goes to the competition in Ukraine and the results are impressive in sports such as swimming and figure skating. “Swimming, roller skating, skating, it’s not easy for me to coach all these sports. We need help, we need sports facilities,” said Marius Pârjol.

Politehnica will support ACS Ambassadors of Hope by: providing the Sports Base No. 2 for a weekly training adapted for young people with disabilities and with the help of our academy’s volunteer coaches. The training can be carried out with the club’s materials; Assistance from the academy staff in the association’s competitions; Promotion of activities; Possibility of organising Special Olyimpics type sports competitions on the Politehnica’s grounds, which have an athletics track, football pitch, swimming pool, etc.
